Admissions

The Beckmead Moundwood Academy occupies a purpose-built building situated on Commonside Road, in Harlow, Essex. All pupils who attend the school will have faced exclusion from mainstream settings, or be at risk of exclusion. The school offers short and long-term provision to meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of pupils. This includes intervention for pupils that have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The school has capacity for up to 89 pupils across all year groups from key stage 1 to key stage 4.

Admissions to the school are by way of the Essex County Council Education Access Team and local commissioning schools. The Beckmead Trust and the school will work closely with all commissioning partners to ensure that any decisions on placement for pupils reflect the individual circumstances of each child and the school.

Once a new referral has been agreed, families are contacted by the school’s Family Liaison Officer and invited in for an initial visit - This usually includes meeting with the Headteacher. During this visit parents, carers and pupils will have an opportunity to tour the school and meet our staff team. Admission documents can be completed at this time and a start date for your child will be agreed by the senior team.
