Pupil Progress

At Beckmead College we encourage all students to achieve and ideally surpass their potential. From an academic viewpoint, all students work towards qualifications in every subject, with qualifications ranging from GCSE’s through to Entry Level qualifications.

All students are set target grades based on their academic ability and their progress towards these target grades is assessed every half-term by their subject teachers. This data is shared with parents and carers every term through our progress review meetings.

In addition to academic progress, we also focus on the progress that students make socially, behaviourally and emotionally. This is done by the student’s class team setting targets through their IEP’s (Individual Education Plans). These targets are shared with staff so that support and interventions can be used when needed and the progress towards these targets are reviewed termly with the IEP updated.

All the student’s progress information is used in the annual EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) review where the student’s needs, interventions and progress are discussed.
